Wire Fraud Advisory

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING WIRE TRANSFERS

Wire fraud and email hacking are on the rise in real estate transactions. Criminals may attempt to send fraudulent wire instructions by impersonating a real estate agent, title company, lender, or other party involved in your transaction.

Sean Jones, Three Point Reality Group, and Fathom Realty will NEVER send wire instructions by email.

Before wiring any funds:

  • Always independently verify wire instructions by calling the title company or attorney using a verified phone number.

  • Do NOT rely on phone numbers or links provided in an email.

  • Confirm all details verbally before sending any money.

If you receive an email containing wire instructions, assume it may be fraudulent until you have verified it by phone.

We are not responsible for any loss resulting from wire fraud or cybercrime. It is your responsibility to verify all wiring instructions before sending funds.

If you suspect fraud, contact your bank immediately and notify the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at www.ic3.gov.
